Manuel “Flaco” Ibáñez hospitalized as colleagues seek O-negative blood donors

Mexican actor Manuel “Flaco” Ibáñez has been hospitalized in Mexico City at Hospital ABC Santa Fe.

Colleagues, including Enrique Burak and Antonio de Valdés, are asking people to donate O-negative blood for him.

The 80-year-old actor is known for work in film, theatre and television, including the series Vecinos.

No diagnosis or reason for his hospital stay has been made public, and the hospital and his family have not issued an update, according to the information available.

In June, Ibáñez said he had surgery after doctors found an aortic aneurysm during tests related to his colon.

It is not known whether the current blood request is linked to that surgery or another treatment, and the number of units needed has not been stated.

His colleagues say the appeal for donors is continuing.
