YouTube adds Custom Feeds and tests quicker access to Subscriptions
YouTube is adding Custom Feeds to its Home page, letting viewers create streams of recommended videos from their own prompts.
The prompts can describe a topic, a type of video or a mood, and the feed updates as new videos appear.
The feeds replace topic chips for eligible users and can be saved for later.
Regular accounts can save up to three, while Premium subscribers can save up to eight.
A mobile Home bar is also being tested, with Subscriptions alongside options such as Live and Music; Movies & TV appears for viewers with active subscriptions.
The rollout is limited for now to signed-in viewers aged 13 or older in the U.S. with English-language settings, and both watch and search history must be on.
