David Harbour Denies Saying Doctor Doom Is Tony Stark in Doomsday

David Harbour denies giving away a major Avengers: Doomsday plot point after a line attributed to him appeared to link Doctor Doom with Tony Stark.

In August, Harbour was reported as saying, “You … are Tony Stark,” while sharing a line from the film.

That seemed to suggest Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom may be recognized as Tony Stark, the hero Downey played in earlier Marvel films.

Speaking later to ScreenRant, Harbour said he had not said that line and claimed his line was, “Five, four, three, two, one.”

He added that something important happens after his character counts down, but did not explain what.

The conflicting accounts leave it unclear whether anyone says the Tony Stark line in the film.

Avengers: Doomsday is due in theaters on December 18, when viewers can learn how the film handles Doom’s identity.
