Nicolas Cage to Star as Neo-Nazi Prison Gang Leader in The Brand

Nicolas Cage will play a feared neo-Nazi gang leader in The Brand, a crime thriller inspired by a true story.

The film focuses on the Aryan Brotherhood, a white supremacist criminal group that began in US prisons, and is set partly in San Quentin prison in California.

Alexander Ludwig plays young prisoner Taylor Hartmann, whom Cage’s character, Carter Briggs, takes under his wing.

In the story, prison authorities move gang members to different prisons to weaken the group, but the transfers help spread its criminal network and racist ideology.

Taylor rises within the gang but is torn between loyalty to Briggs and building a life with Lilly, played by Maria Bakalova.

The film also stars Gabriel Basso, whose character has not been specified, and will be directed by Vincent Grashaw.

Pre-production is expected to begin in early 2027, but no release date has been announced.
