Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 models get their final major Android update in 2026

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S9 models will get their final major Android update in 2026.

The update is One UI 9, based on Android 17, and applies to the S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE and S9 FE+.

Samsung promised these tablets four generations of major OS updates and five years of security patches when they launched in 2023 with Android 13.

Security updates should continue until sometime in 2028, even after major OS upgrades end.

The older Galaxy Tab S8 models and the Tab A9 and A9+ have already received their final major OS updates.

Newer Samsung tablets, including the Tab S10, S11 and S12 series, are covered by a seven-year update commitment.

The final OS upgrade does not mean security support ends immediately, which matters for users deciding whether to keep using these tablets.

Update availability varies by model and region, so owners can check Settings under Software update.
