Gominho joins Queops Vieira on a song for his new album

Brazilian presenter Gominho is returning to music with a guest vocal on a track by singer and choreographer Queops Vieira.

The song, “Proteção de Orixá,” is about a tender romance and draws on religions of African origin.

Vieira’s album is due to launch at a small live show on Sunday, November 1, at a venue in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro.

Gominho says music grew from his love of poetry and became a way to express himself during the pandemic.

He released an EP this year and hopes to put out more songs by year’s end, then make a second album if he can find time next year.

His return follows encouragement from his late friend Preta Gil, whom he says he still misses.

Gominho said music and videos that bring gay artists and African-rooted religions to a wider audience reflect progress, but that gaining space requires ongoing effort.
