Turkish fintech Complead targets US growth after reaching 80 countries

Turkish fintech company Complead is expanding in the US with a company and local team in New York.

It began in 2020 as Sanction Scanner, a startup at Yıldız Technical University focused on checking financial customers against sanctions lists.

The company now serves more than 800 organisations in over 80 countries, and says more than half its customers are outside Türkiye.

It has grown without taking outside investment, with all shares held by its founders and employees.

Its software has expanded from sanctions checks into tools for compliance, risk monitoring and fraud detection.

The company says its AI automates 77% of routine cases and can cut false alerts by up to 97%.

Complead says it plans to develop products for trade compliance, crypto regulations and environmental, social and governance standards.
