Claim that Zelensky bought a Nova Scotia bunker is false
A false claim said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky bought a $42 million bunker in Nova Scotia, Canada.
The claim spread online in posts that presented the story as if it came from the Toronto Sun.
The newspaper said it never published the story, which appeared on a recently created website imitating its name.
Zelensky did visit Canada in September to seek more military support for Ukraine, but no evidence links him to the bunker.
The property is a real historic bunker in Debert, and media reports said it was owned by Canadian crypto mogul Jonathan Baha'i and Paul Mansfield in July 2026.
Searches found no evidence that the property had recently been bought or transferred.
The false story used a fake news website to give the claim credibility; researchers said its methods resemble known influence campaigns, but established no link to those operations.
No further steps or investigation outcome were stated.
