HBO Orders Baldur’s Gate Series Set After the Third Game

HBO is making a Baldur’s Gate television series that continues the story after the events of the game Baldur’s Gate 3.

Craig Mazin, co-creator of HBO’s The Last of Us, will write and run the show with Hasbro Entertainment.

The series will include new characters and familiar faces, but no cast or character details have been announced.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was made by Larian Studios, which is now focused on a different project called Divinity.

Baldur’s Gate 4 is not officially in development, leaving the series room to tell its own continuation of the story.

Former Dungeons & Dragons creative head Chris Perkins will advise the production to help keep it true to the game’s roots.

No release date or further production details have been announced.
