Google reportedly replaces a Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a newer model
A Pixel 9 Pro Fold owner says Google is replacing their phone with a Pixel 11 Pro Fold, according to a Reddit post.
The replacement is reportedly a 512GB model, twice the storage of the 256GB phone the owner sent in.
Google extended coverage for some Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices after finding that a limited number could have problems affecting how they work.
The owner says the replacement was covered by that extended warranty, rather than the phone’s original warranty or a separately purchased service plan.
Google’s repair service may send replacements when it cannot provide the same model, but this upgrade may be a one-off and is not something other owners should expect.
