FireFly reports copper-gold discovery at Mount Joy in Canada

FireFly announced a copper-gold discovery at the Mount Joy prospect, part of its Green Bay project in Canada.

The prospect is near Tilt Cove and about 35 kilometres from the company's Ming Mine.

FireFly says it identified Mount Joy through geophysical and geochemical surveys before drilling.

The first hole intersected 22.5 metres grading 2.5% copper equivalent from a depth of 109 metres, including a richer section.

A second hole cut about 40 metres of semi-massive sulphides, but assay results for that hole are still pending.

The discovery adds to the exploration potential of the area, and FireFly says numerous other targets remain to be tested.

The first hole was also about 2.6 kilometres from the company's Nugget Pond processing facility, which is currently on care and maintenance.
