Man found dead in car outside Connecticut polling station

A man was found unresponsive in a car outside the Killingly Public Schools administration building in Connecticut early Tuesday.

Police arrived at 5:17 a.m., less than an hour before the building was due to open as a polling station.

Officials said the death was unrelated to the election, and voting went ahead as planned.

Investigators reported no suspicious circumstances, but the man’s identity and cause of death have not been made public.

Killingly residents were voting in state and national races, including the contest for governor and elections for all five of Connecticut’s seats in the House of Representatives.

The death came as voters across the country chose who would control Congress, with ballots still to be counted after polls closed.
