Las Palmas nightclub manager arrested in suspected drug trafficking case

Police arrested the manager of La Pequeña Habana, a nightclub in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Officers searched the venue on Friday after receiving information that it may have been open beyond its usual hours and used to sell or consume drugs.

They found nine packets of suspected cocaine, weighing about 5.2 grams, in a bathroom bin.

Police also seized €1,407 in cash, some of it hidden near the bar.

Officers found another similar packet on a person at the club, who received an administrative notice for possessing drugs.

The arrest is an allegation, not a finding of guilt, and details of the manager’s legal status have not been released.

Local police separately recorded possible breaches of opening hours and emergency-access rules, while the criminal investigation continues.
