Amsterdam delivery driver to file complaint after being tasered

A police officer tasered a delivery driver in Amsterdam’s Negen Straatjes shopping area on Thursday.

The driver’s lawyer says he was injured by the shocks and fell, bruising his arm and wrist; the driver has seen a doctor.

The lawyer says the driver will file a complaint against the officer and argues the use of force broke police rules.

Police say the driver refused to move his van, did not cooperate with his arrest and grabbed the officer’s wrist.

Witnesses interviewed by local broadcaster AT5 said they thought the tasering was unnecessary, while police say short video clips do not show the full incident.

The accounts of what happened differ, and the Dutch police review uses of force after every incident.
