São Paulo traffic company workers cancel planned strike after accepting offer

CET workers in São Paulo cancelled a planned strike after accepting a settlement offer at a meeting on Thursday.

The offer was put forward by the regional labor court and the Labor Prosecutor’s Office.

It provides a 4.11% increase in salaries and economic benefits and preserves rights the workers said were at risk.

The workers had planned to strike over a June company proposal to change their collective agreement and reduce some benefits.

That proposal included lowering the vacation bonus and changing terms on working conditions, compensation, dental coverage and days off.

The accepted offer now goes to CET management to formalize the collective agreement for the 2026 salary campaign.
