Pony Verma Says 12-Year Age Gap Helped Her Marriage to Prakash Raj

Choreographer Pony Verma says her 12-year age gap with actor Prakash Raj helped their relationship work.

She said friends questioned her decision to marry a man 12 years older, but she felt he understood her experiences and struggles.

Verma said Raj brought calm and steadiness to her life, and described him as honest and clear from the start that he wanted a long-term relationship and marriage.

They married in 2010 and have a son, Vedhant, born in 2016.

She described a warm, lasting bond with Raj’s daughters, Pooja and Meghana, from his first marriage; she said they were part of the wedding and remain together for important milestones.

Verma also said she had not expected to leave Mumbai, where she had built a career as a choreographer.

She is now happily settled in Hyderabad, and the couple’s family life includes time with Raj’s daughters.
