SSG’s role-swapping exhibition draws 23,000 fans to Incheon

SSG Landers held a sold-out exhibition match for its fans on October 17 at SSG Landers Field in Incheon.

The 23,000-seat stadium filled with SSG supporters for the event, which followed the end of the team’s season.

The match, called “Choi-Kwang Baseball 1429,” was named for veterans Choi Jeong and Kim Kwang-hyun, who managed opposing teams.

Pitchers and position players switched roles, turning the game into a playful contest rather than a standard match.

Players also planned performances, and the game was played over seven innings with limits on pitching speed to help prevent injuries.

The event has grown into an annual fan celebration: SSG has held similar season-ending matches for three years, and this one was also broadcast on SPOTV.

Awards and fireworks were planned after the game, though no result is given.
