Türkiye sets $10 billion AI investment target by 2030
Türkiye’s Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır set out the country’s 2026–2030 AI plan at a forum in Istanbul.
The government aims to draw at least $10 billion in private investment into data centers, cloud computing and AI infrastructure by 2030.
It also plans to raise data center capacity to at least one gigawatt and provide AI training to five million people.
The plan includes training 10,000 advanced AI specialists and 100,000 professionals who can apply AI in sectors such as health care, farming and manufacturing.
A Turkish-language model called BİLGE will soon be opened to developers, researchers and startups to help them build AI products for Turkish-language and local needs.
The government also plans to make at least 2,000 public datasets available and set up testing zones and an ethics board.
For applications with serious effects, such as medical decisions or access to public services, stronger safeguards and human oversight are planned.
