Kinokoni brings seat-side food and drink service to its Zurich cinema
The Kinokoni cinema in Zurich has introduced seat-side food and drink service at its Europaallee location.
Guests can order snacks and drinks by QR code, and staff bring them before the film, during previews or at the break, rather than while the film is playing.
The menu includes popcorn, nachos, Pinsa, fries, desserts and drinks.
The service is part of a cinema concept that combines films with a restaurant and bar experience.
Kinokoni already offers the concept in Olten, where it began in 2019, and Basel, which opened in 2025.
In Zurich, two of the cinema’s six halls became lounge spaces, with tables and more comfortable seats but fewer places overall.
The company says the offer has drawn teenagers and families as well as the adults it initially expected to attract.

What people are saying
The idea behind the concept was to reduce dependence on the film. Instead, the experience of enjoying good food together with a cinema visit should be at the centre.
In Olten we are recording an increase of 40 percent this year, and in Basel even 150 percent.
In Britain and the USA, combining cinema, gastronomy and personal service is already widespread.
