Apple CEO John Ternus faces first earnings call amid investor scrutiny

Apple CEO John Ternus will host his first earnings call on Monday, after taking over from Tim Cook in September.

Investors will look for his outlook on costs, sales and the holiday quarter.

Apple’s new products include its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, along with a smart home hub, updated Siri and touch-screen laptops.

Some Duo owners have reported cracks or lines along the screen’s fold, and Apple says the problem affects a small number of phones.

The screen reports raise questions about demand and replacements, as the phone costs about $2,000 and delivery waits are reported to be long.

Rising memory-chip costs could slow profit growth, while analysts expect Apple’s revenue and iPhone sales to rise in its latest quarter.

Investors will also assess Apple’s AI strategy and whether it can support growth in services as rivals develop AI tools and devices.

The call will include Apple’s forecast for the holiday quarter, when sales of the Duo are expected to contribute.
