Brewers sweep Dodgers out of the NLCS despite Ohtani home run

The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the National League Championship Series and advance to the World Series.

The Dodgers lost 6-4 at home on Thursday, ending their season after four straight defeats.

Shohei Ohtani hit a three-run home run in the second inning to give Los Angeles a 4-0 lead, but Milwaukee fought back to tie the game and then took the lead in the sixth.

The Dodgers struggled to bring runners home, finishing the series with five hits in 43 chances with runners in scoring position.

The loss ended the Dodgers’ bid for a third straight World Series title, a feat no team has achieved since the New York Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000.

The Brewers will now seek their first World Series championship; their opponent has not yet been decided, as the American League Championship Series is still being played.
