Mexico seizes 133 kilograms of methamphetamine in Sinaloa

Mexican federal authorities seized 133 kilograms of methamphetamine in Sinaloa and detained two men.

The drugs were packed in 89 bundles and hidden beneath a false floor in a semitrailer.

Officers stopped the truck on Federal Highway 15, between Mazatlán and Culiacán, after its driver made evasive maneuvers when he saw them.

Several federal agencies took part in the operation as part of security efforts in the state.

Authorities said the seizure was intended to stop the drug from reaching the streets and harming people’s health.

The two men and the seized drugs were handed to a federal prosecutor, who will determine their legal status.
