Bruno Dantas named executive chairman of Brazil’s Avibras

Former audit court minister Bruno Dantas was named Avibras’s executive chairman on Thursday, October 15.

The Batista brothers’ Globe Investimentos completed its purchase of the entire company, including its industrial facilities and technology portfolio.

Avibras, based in Jacareí, São Paulo state, had been under judicial recovery for four years.

A R$300 million investment helped support the company’s recovery, according to Dantas.

Avibras plans to export artillery rockets and develop drone systems and tactical cruise and ballistic missiles.

The new ownership is expected to allow large-scale arms production to resume and help the company meet commitments abroad.

This transaction preserves much more than Avibras’s technologies and facilities. It preserves the experience, knowledge and dedication accumulated since 1961 by a highly qualified workforce, which will remain fundamental to the company’s success.
