Man, 43, shot dead at home in Dingolfing; attacker remains at large

A 43-year-old man was shot dead at his home in Dingolfing, a town in Bavaria, on Monday around midday.

Police say an unknown person rang the doorbell, and when the resident opened the door, the attacker fired at least one shot.

The suspect fled in a dark vehicle, possibly a BMW, and has not been caught.

Police say he may still be armed and describe him as wearing a dark hooded jacket, with a moustache and a roundish face.

They are asking people to report anything suspicious and not to approach the suspect.

The motive and whether the two men knew each other are unknown, while investigators continue gathering evidence and plan to question possible witnesses.
