São Paulo lose 3-2 to Bahia after set-piece defensive lapse

Bahia beat São Paulo 3-2 in a Brazilian league match on Wednesday, October 28.

The game was part of the league’s 33rd round, and Bahia’s winning goal came from a set piece late in the second half.

After a free kick, Erick set up Marcos Victor to score with a header.

São Paulo coach Dorival Júnior called the lapse a collective error and said the team must correct its defending at set pieces.

He said the problem was about attention, concentration and preparation rather than tactics, and that such mistakes had cost the team points earlier in the competition.

São Paulo next face Corinthians in a local derby on Wednesday, November 4, at Vila Belmiro; Dorival said the team would prepare without any special approach.
