Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted Houthi drone over Medina

The Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted a drone in Saudi Arabia’s Medina region on Friday.

Yemen’s Houthis denied launching an attack towards the kingdom.

Medina is home to one of Islam’s holiest sites and draws millions of Muslim pilgrims each year.

The coalition backs Yemen’s internationally recognised government, while the Houthis control the capital, Sanaa.

Cross-border attacks have intensified amid the US-Israeli war on Iran, opening another front in the conflict.

The coalition and the Houthis have made conflicting claims, and no further action was announced.
