CTV camera operator David Pettitt seriously injured in Perth County collision

CTV camera operator David Pettitt was hit by a vehicle while covering a separate crash in Perth County, Ontario, on Thursday.

The 65-year-old was working on Line 34, outside Shakespeare, when the vehicle drove through a road closure barricade.

The barricade was diverting traffic from an earlier crash involving three vehicles.

Pettitt suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital; his family later said his condition had stabilized.

Police are investigating how the vehicle passed the closure, and say another vehicle also drove through barricades at the scene and hit a vehicle blocking the road, without injuring anyone.

Police are asking witnesses and people with video footage to come forward as the investigation continues.
