Forensic evidence examined in Sydney double-murder trial
Police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon is on trial in Sydney over the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies in February 2024.
He has pleaded not guilty to two murder charges and an aggravated break-and-enter charge.
The prosecution says he shot both men with his police service weapon at Baird’s home.
The defence says the men died in two separate incidents and argues Lamarre-Condon acted in self-defence.
Forensic experts described the men’s gunshot injuries and said Baird’s head injury would have left him unable to make conscious movements.
A pathologist said Davies died from a gunshot wound to the head, but could not rule out a severe neck injury as another cause of death.
The trial continues, with jurors also hearing evidence about a bullet hole in a bedroom door and DNA found in the gun’s barrel.
