Monadelphous wins about $150 million in mining contracts
Australian contractor Monadelphous won about $150 million in new work from three major resources companies.
The deals cover maintenance at Rio Tinto’s Dampier and Cape Lambert ports in Western Australia, as well as work for BHP’s Ministers North Project in the Pilbara.
The BHP contract is due to be completed by mid-2028.
Monadelphous also won a three-year shutdown services contract with Whitehaven Coal, with an option to extend it by two years.
Together, the contracts give Monadelphous work across ports, a BHP project and coal mine sites in Queensland and New South Wales.
The wins matter because they add to the company’s work with major mining customers and extend some existing relationships.
Monadelphous will deliver the contracts over the coming years, with some work running until at least 2028.
Monadelphous Group announced new contracts worth about $150 million in total across customers in the resources sector.
The awards include work for Rio Tinto, BHP and Whitehaven Coal.
The Rio Tinto contract covers four years of maintenance and minor works on marine infrastructure at Dampier and Cape Lambert ports.
The BHP contract is for the Ministers North Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara and is due to be completed by mid-2028.
The Whitehaven Coal contract covers three years of shutdown services and has a two-year extension option.
