Turkey’s composites industry targets $10 billion by around 2033
Turkey’s composites industry aims to grow to $10 billion by around 2033, up from about $4.5 billion today.
Composites are materials made by combining different substances, and their light weight and strength make them useful in aircraft, vehicles, wind turbines and many other products.
Defence and renewable energy are key drivers as composites are used in aircraft, military equipment and the blades of larger wind turbines.
The industry’s head says Turkey’s production capacity is strong, but domestic use remains far below Germany’s: about 3.3 kilograms per person in Turkey, compared with 11 to 12 kilograms in Germany.
The global market is expected to exceed $212 billion by 2033, giving Turkish producers room to expand, though they face competition from China.

Turkey’s composites industry aims to grow from about $4.5 billion today to $7 billion in the near term and $10 billion around 2033.
