Chiefs face 2-6 Jets after two straight losses

The Kansas City Chiefs have lost two games in a row and will host the New York Jets on Sunday.

The 2-6 Jets enter with a losing record, a situation in which the Chiefs have won 12 straight games with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.

Kansas City’s last such loss was a 20-14 defeat to the Raiders on Christmas Day in 2023.

The Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl that season, beating the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.

The Jets are 5-20 under second-year coach Aaron Glenn, the league’s second-worst record since the start of the 2025 season.

Kansas City’s running game has also slowed: Kenneth Walker III averaged 52.5 yards per game over the past two losses, down from 133 during the previous five wins.

Reigniting the running game is a key task for the Chiefs as they try to end their losing streak.
