KPK Examines Rp250 Million Returned by PCNU Nias in Corruption Probe

Indonesia’s KPK is examining Rp250 million returned by PCNU Nias, a branch of the Nahdlatul Ulama organisation.

The money was seized by investigators, who are checking whether it is linked to alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and the National Land Agency, known as ATR/BPN.

They are also examining whether it is connected to a recent Nahdlatul Ulama congress.

The wider case involves alleged bribery over land-use rights for property company Summarecon Agung and other payments at ATR/BPN.

Eight people have been named as suspects, including a land office chief, a company executive and officials; the KPK has also sought to question minister Nusron Wahid as a witness.

Investigators will analyse the money’s connection to the case and keep it as evidence if it is linked; otherwise, they will return it to PCNU Nias.
