Apple could reach 29.8% of foldable phone market in 2027, forecast says
Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, has begun shipping.
TrendForce forecasts Apple could capture 29.8% of the global foldable phone market in 2027.
The forecast follows an earlier prediction that Apple would ship five million units and take 24.8% of the market by the end of 2026.
TrendForce expects the overall market to reach 23.5 million shipments in 2027, up 16.3% from the previous year.
It says Apple's integration of chips, software and apps could make foldable phones more useful for multitasking.
If the forecast holds, Apple would rank second behind Samsung, whose projected share is 31.9%, with Huawei at 21.3%.
