Calgary startup PataBid raises $2 million for AI construction tool

Calgary startup PataBid has raised $2 million in pre-seed funding to grow its construction software business.

The round was led by Graphite Ventures, with participation from other investors and previous angel backers.

The money will support product development and expansion of the company’s supply and distribution network across North America.

PataBid’s platform, Quantify, uses AI to prepare construction estimates from project drawings, which the company says can take hours.

The company is also developing Newton, an AI tool it plans to add to Quantify.

Newton is in beta testing, with a launch planned for 2027.

The funding is intended to speed up commercialization of PataBid’s products in a construction industry where the company says estimating still relies on manual and older tools.
