Jecheon couple has naturally conceived twins for a second year in a row

A couple in Jecheon, South Korea, had twin boys for the second year in a row.

The couple had their first twin boys in February last year and their second set in February this year, with both pregnancies conceived naturally.

Naturally conceiving twins in consecutive years is estimated to happen about once in 100,000 cases.

The rare births have brought attention to the family and to local support for raising children.

The family will receive benefits worth 307.48 million won in total through the time the children turn nine, including a 106 million won childbirth grant from Jecheon City.

A local community group also gave the family eight boxes of diapers and 700,000 won, and the city mayor said support for families with many children would continue.
