Russian envoy accuses Ukraine of terrorizing civilians and using torture

Russia’s UN ambassador Vasily Nebenzya accused Ukraine of terrorizing civilians at an unofficial meeting on human rights violations in Ukraine.

He alleged that Ukraine targets civilians even inside Russia and carries out a systematic policy of torture.

Nebenzya cited Alyoshki in the Kherson Region as one example, but gave no further details in his remarks.

He said international humanitarian law applies to all sides, whether they are defending or attacking.

He argued that discussing a resolution to the crisis is difficult with countries that do not acknowledge what he described as violations.

His statements were accusations made at the meeting, and no response or next step was included.
