Hapoel Tel Aviv and EuroLeague discuss returning games to Israel

Hapoel Tel Aviv officials met EuroLeague executives in Tel Aviv to discuss bringing EuroLeague games back to Israel.

The meeting included Hapoel owner Ofer Yannay, chairman Stav Shacham, EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno and competitions director Diego Guillen.

The talks were described as positive, but no decision to return games was announced.

Hapoel and the EuroLeague are continuing discussions about making a return possible.

EuroLeague games are not currently being played in Israel, and the clubs want their teams to play at home in front of local fans.

Later that day, representatives of Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem were due to meet with EuroLeague officials, alongside three Hapoel players.

The next step is continued dialogue; the clubs say they aim to bring games back as soon as possible.
