A24’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary hits big in North America as overseas releases lag

A24’s documentary about Elizabeth Holmes is a North American box-office hit after earning $23.4 million in six days.

Directed by Nathan Fielder, “You Can See Everything” follows the disgraced Theranos founder as a documentary crew enters her life before she begins a prison sentence.

Its six-day total put it among the top 10 highest-grossing non-music documentaries in North America, according to the figures provided.

The film opened in the U.S. with $15.6 million, the second-biggest opening weekend for a documentary, behind “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Audiences in the U.K. and Australia must wait until Nov.

20 to see it, more than a month after its U.S. debut.

That delay has frustrated international viewers as spoilers and online discussion spread before the film reaches their cinemas.

Sony has not announced release plans for territories including Germany, Latin America and South Korea.
