Cyclist killed in collision with truck in Busnes, northern France

A woman cycling was killed in a collision with a truck on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on the D916 in Busnes, in France’s Pas-de-Calais region, near Béthune.

Emergency crews arrived at about 9 a.m., but a doctor later confirmed the cyclist had died.

The exact circumstances of the crash remain unclear.

Gendarmes and the town’s mayor were at the scene.

The road was closed in both directions during the emergency response and traffic was later reported to be flowing again.
