SK Telecom, Seoul National University and KAIST to study math problems with AI
SK Telecom is teaming up with researchers from Seoul National University and KAIST to study how AI can help with difficult mathematics problems.
The work will focus on A.X K2, SK Telecom’s foundation AI model, and ways to strengthen its reasoning.
The groups discussed the research at a meeting at SK Telecom’s headquarters in Seoul on October 22.
Mathematicians and AI researchers will help teach the model specialist knowledge and study how large language models can be used in mathematical research.
The aim is to improve the model in areas that existing models have not handled well and try to solve challenging problems in different areas of mathematics.
SK Telecom says the collaboration will also help develop the model’s ability to carry out tasks as an AI agent.
SK Telecom will work with researchers from Seoul National University and KAIST to study difficult mathematical problems using its A.X K2 AI model.
The collaboration aims to strengthen the model’s reasoning capabilities and improve its ability to solve real problems.
Researchers plan to train A.X K2 on specialist knowledge from mathematical fields that existing models have not handled.
The teams will also study how to apply large language models to actual mathematical research.
