Prosecutors seek trial for Daniela Santanchè over company failures
Milan prosecutors have asked a judge to send Senator Daniela Santanchè and 15 others to trial over alleged financial crimes.
The case concerns the failures of four companies, including Ki Group, Ki Group Holding and Bioera, where Santanchè held roles.
Prosecutors allege fraudulent bankruptcy, false accounts and fraud against the state, claims Santanchè denies.
They also allege the group obtained €3.3 million in public support during the Covid period by misleading Invitalia, the state agency.
The accusations include alleged false gains, questionable payments and the use of some funding for purposes outside an investment plan.
A preliminary hearing must now be scheduled, where a judge will decide whether the case goes to trial.
Santanchè is already involved in two other Milan cases, including one over alleged false accounting at Visibilia.
