Disney+ to launch 7,000-won ad-supported plan in South Korea

Disney+ will launch a 7,000-won monthly plan with ads in South Korea from November 10.

The company says the ad-supported Standard membership will roll out gradually, and everyone can sign up from November 17.

The plan includes ads before or during shows and supports video quality up to 1080p, 5.1 audio and viewing on two devices at once.

Subscribers can pay 4,000 won more each month to add one person who does not live in their household.

Prices for existing plans will also increase for people who sign up from November 10: Standard will cost 11,500 won a month and Premium 16,500 won.

The new option gives viewers a lower-priced way to watch Disney+ while accepting advertising.
