Russia says a US Congress hostile to ties will not worry Moscow
Russian official Alexander Gusarov said a new US Congress may hinder efforts to improve ties with Russia after the midterm elections.
He said Moscow is not worried about that prospect.
Gusarov argued that such a policy could be a mistake for the United States, while Russia would continue pursuing its foreign policy goals.
The comments concern normalizing relations between Russia and the United States, which have been strained.
In October, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said the US election results would not affect Russia's efforts to protect its interests over Ukraine.
Separately, Russia, the United States and Ukraine are due to meet in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11 to discuss ending the conflict, security arrangements after the war, de-escalation and humanitarian measures.

What people are saying
We assume that the US Congress in its new composition will also be subject to the destructive influence of the anti-Russian consensus that has formed there and, consequently, will probably continue to put obstacles in the way of implementing significant initiatives to normalize Russian-American relations.
This does not worry Moscow.
