TotalEnergies reports record $8.3 billion quarterly profit

TotalEnergies reported a record $8.3 billion net profit for the third quarter, covering July to September.

The French oil and gas company said the Middle East war helped push up hydrocarbon prices.

A French-language account also points to tight supplies of refined products, especially diesel, and higher refining margins.

The profit was up from $5.4 billion in the previous quarter; one account says it rose 124% from a year earlier.

The company said higher market prices lifted earnings across its businesses, with refining and chemicals posting a record $3.6 billion result.

TotalEnergies plans to raise its interim dividend by 5.9% compared with 2025, to €0.90 per share.

It also plans $2.5 billion in share buybacks in the fourth quarter and the first quarter of 2027.
