Prosegur turns to AI, robots and drones to expand its security business
Prosegur is using AI, robots and drones as it marks 50 years in the security business.
The Spanish company began with in-person guarding and now offers services across five areas, including alarms, cash logistics, digital asset custody, cybersecurity and technology services.
Its secretary general, Antonio Rubio, said the company sees the future as a mix of human workers and technology.
Robots and drones could help expand its services and open opportunities in defence, where Rubio sees a space between private security and military work.
The shift matters because more connected devices bring new cyber risks, including fraud and weaknesses in devices such as cameras.
Prosegur says it wants to use technology to detect threats and improve prevention, but it has not announced specific next steps.
