Norman Osborn Takes Iron Man’s Mentor Role in Spider-Man Series

Disney+’s animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man gives Norman Osborn the mentor role that Iron Man had for Peter Parker in the live-action Marvel films.

The series is set in an alternate universe and is not part of the main Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In its first season, Osborn, voiced by Colman Domingo, guides Peter as he learns to be a hero.

Iron Man appears only briefly in that season, rather than serving as Peter’s main mentor.

Osborn is a classic Spider-Man character who becomes the Green Goblin, making his influence on Peter a dark twist.

Season 2 is scheduled to debut on Disney+ on January 13, 2027, though Iron Man has not appeared in its promotional material.

The new season may continue the show’s different take on Peter’s relationship with Iron Man, but the available details do not confirm his role.
