King River identifies new gold targets at Western Australia project
King River Resources has identified new gold targets at its Mindoolah project in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
Soil sampling found a peak reading of 231.8 parts per billion of gold at the Golden Gate prospect, near old mine workings and mapped quartz veins.
Elevated samples there averaged 21 parts per billion, compared with a background level of 2.
On the western side, the Le Soleil-Demagnetised corridor had readings up to 69.9 parts per billion, with elevated samples averaging 27.
The results are helping guide an 11,000-metre drilling campaign that is underway across the project.
Drilling has moved to the Le Soleil-Demagnetised target after work at the Excelsior open pit area was completed, and those samples are at a laboratory for testing.
The company says the new targets build on earlier drilling that found shallow, high-grade gold, but the soil results themselves do not establish whether gold deposits are present.

Soil sampling returned 231.8 parts per billion of gold at the Golden Gate prospect, near historical mine workings and mapped quartz veining.
The sampling also defined several coherent gold trends aligned with interpreted structural corridors, magnetic features and geological contacts.
King River says the results could help guide its phase-two reverse-circulation drilling campaign, which is underway.

- Who
- King River Resources, an exploration company.
- What
- Soil sampling identified gold targets, including a 231.8 parts per billion result at Golden Gate.
- When
- The findings were reported on November 2, 2026. The article does not state when the sampling was conducted.
- Where
- The Mindoolah gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison province, 70 kilometres north-west of Cue.
- Why
- The results provide geochemical information and potential targets for King River’s ongoing phase-two drilling campaign.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
King River exercised its option to acquire the Mindoolah ground, which became its flagship gold project.
The company’s drilling campaign recorded a 79 per cent hit rate and confirmed shallow, high-grade mineralisation.
King River had completed a 3,252-metre campaign at Excelsior and sent the samples to a laboratory for analysis.
The drilling rig had moved to the Le Soleil-Demagnetised target corridor.

What people are saying
The UltraFine+ soil program has delivered a valuable new layer of geochemical intelligence across Mindoolah, revealing clear spatial alignments between elevated gold, structural corridors, magnetic features, and key lithological contacts.
On the eastern side, the high-grade 231.8 ppb Au result at Golden Gate highlights an exciting target immediately adjacent to historical workings and mapped quartz veining.
All Excelsior samples are now in the laboratory for assay, and the rig has shifted to begin drilling at the Demagnetised target.
