Wujiaqu plans closer links between city and countryside
Wujiaqu and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps’ Sixth Division plan to strengthen links between city and countryside in the coming five-year plan period.
The area is in Xinjiang, in northwestern China, and includes an urban centre, farm towns and rural settlements.
Officials say the previous five-year period brought better infrastructure and more balanced public services across these areas.
In 2025, per-person disposable income was 26.3% higher for urban residents and 45.6% higher for rural residents than at the start of that period.
The new plan aims to coordinate development, improve transport and other infrastructure, and extend education, health care and employment services to rural communities.
Officials also want closer cooperation with nearby cities through shared facilities, services and economic development.
The plan is intended to make public services more equal and support further improvements in residents’ lives.
