Adidas raises annual profit forecast after record quarter

Adidas raised its 2026 operating profit forecast to €2.5 billion after a record third quarter.

The German sportswear company, based in Herzogenaurach, said its operating profit rose 37% to €1.01 billion, its highest quarterly result.

Revenue reached about €7.3 billion, up 9% from a year earlier, or 7% after adjusting for currency changes.

A court ruling led to about €200 million in US tariffs being refunded to Adidas, while selling more products at full price added another €100 million.

The company said these gains outweighed the effect of unfavourable exchange rates.

Adidas kept its forecast for currency-adjusted revenue growth of 9% to 10% this year, and plans to spend an extra €100 million in the fourth quarter on costs including IT and logistics.

It said the additional spending is intended to support higher profits in the future.

Yes, the lifestyle business with shoes is difficult at the moment, mainly because of excessive inventories and too many discounts in the overall market. But we know that this will soon return to normal.
