Guenther Steiner Calls Lando Norris’s Singapore GP Radio Offers “Cringe”
Lando Norris offered to help Oscar Piastri during the Singapore Grand Prix, held after the two McLaren drivers collided while racing for fourth in the Sprint.
Norris had faced criticism over the collision and asked his team on the radio whether he should drop back to help Piastri catch Lewis Hamilton.
McLaren declined the offer, and Piastri passed Hamilton with one lap left and finished ahead of him.
Former team principal Guenther Steiner said Norris overplayed the gesture, calling it “cringe” while also saying he believed it was sincere.
Norris said he could not catch Kimi Antonelli in third, so helping Piastri offered a better chance for the team to score more points.

I think [the messages] were sincere but he overdid that.
This is cringe, you know.
I asked, but I didn't need to in the end, and we still got the best points we could as a team.
I'm pleased that Lando, at some stage in the race, adopted this way of thinking.
